High Atlas, gateway to the Ouzoud Falls

Azilal

Where the river plunges 110 metres

The town of Azilal itself is unassuming, but it is the gateway to the Cascades d'Ouzoud, one of North Africa's most impressive waterfalls. Across several tiers, the river plunges roughly 110 metres into a gorge, while Barbary macaques clamber through the surrounding olive groves and rainbows form in the spray on clear days.
