Saïdia

The blue pearl on the other sea

While the rest of this list sits on the Atlantic or in the desert, Saïdia looks out on a different sea: Morocco's far northeast, where a 14-kilometre sandy beach meets the Mediterranean and on clear days you can almost squint your way to Spain. The new town was deliberately built in blue and white — a nod to Chefchaouen at the other end of the country. A calm, sunny final note to a journey that began where everything was blue.
